Community Engagements Programmes

We actively engage in community enrichment programs aimed at promoting sustainable agriculture, supporting local farmers, and empowering rural communities.

Through educational workshops, training sessions, and partnerships with local organizations, we strive to impart valuable knowledge and skills that enable individuals to improve their livelihoods and build a better future for themselves and their families.

Our initiatives aim to make communities vital to food security, ensuring physical and economic access to affordable protein for active and healthy lives.

Community Outreach

Bellevue Chix actively engages in activities to uplift the communities in the areas where we operate. At the Badirile Early Childhood Development Centre in Brandvlei, the Harties Hatchery team are involved through general maintenance activities and other support functions to ensure the young children from the community can receive a strong educational foundation in a safe environment. The Centre is also the main beneficiary of our annual Charity Golf Day where we have set the ambitious goal to raise funds to build an extra classroom.

In the Western Cape, the Bellevue Chix teams are involved in various projects at their local SAPS branches and other facilities that serves the communities.

Environmental

Environmental stewardship is a critical responsibility for all our farm managers and, where possible, we take steps to reduce our environmental footprint. Our two largest hatcheries have both completed solar panel installations in the past year and our Fynbos Broiler farm was also recently nominated by Cape Nature for their efforts in protection of the unique fynbos vegetation on the farm.

Small-scale farmers

Bellevue Chix Harties Hatchery invested in its own chick delivery vehicle to supply chicks to the small-scale farmers in the Limpopo province. Together with our sister company, Nova Feeds, who provides the feed, we aim to increase the participation of more farmers in the poultry industry.
