The annual Bellevue Chix Charity Golf Day, a heartwarming event supporting the Badirile Early Childhood Development Centre, was held at the stunning Magalies Park Golf Course. This year’s event, which took place on a sun-drenched day, brought together 76 enthusiastic golfers. Participants included customers, suppliers, and sponsors, all united by a shared commitment to making a difference in the lives of children in the Badirile community.
A Day on the Greens
The picturesque Magalies Park Golf Course provided the perfect backdrop for a day of friendly competition and camaraderie. The golfers, grouped into various teams, showcased their skills and sportsmanship. Among them, one team emerged victorious: The Scotty Scheffler team, made up of Mike Carr, Jac Steyn, Russel Webber and Morné Gerber, whose members celebrated their win with pride and joy.
Evening of Entertainment and Giving
As the sun set over the rolling greens, the festivities moved indoors for the much-anticipated auction and award function. Guests were in for a treat as the evening’s entertainment was none other than Fanie de Villiers, the legendary cricketer. De Villiers regaled the audience with captivating stories from his cricket-playing days, infusing the event with humour and nostalgia.
Special Guest: Maria Mabele
We were honoured to have Maria Mabele, the principal of the Badirile Early Childhood Development Centre, attend the function. Her presence highlighted the deep connection between the event and the cause it supports, and she shared heartfelt words of gratitude and hope, reminding everyone of the impact their contributions make.
Auction Success: Raising Funds for a Noble Cause
The highlight of the evening was the charity auction. Thanks to the generosity of the attendees, we managed to raise over R30,000. These funds will be instrumental in supporting the Badirile Early Childhood Development Centre, aiding them in their daily operations and enhancing the invaluable work they do for the children in the community. The success of the auction underscored the collective spirit of giving and the commitment to fostering a brighter future for the young ones at Badirile.
